Would you leave your camera in the car?

OK, so the best kept secret of Photography is to take your camera everywhere. Cos you never know when you might get a chance to take that stunning picture you’ve been waiting for. EVERYWHERE … hm!

For software-techie like me, carrying a camera around would be like a construction guy with a yellow hat, walking around with some art brushes (please do not interpret this in a derogatory way)

So, now that raises a question for me, would you leave your camera in your car? (If, it getting stolen is not a concern). Would you be worried about the weather damaging the camera?

Extreme cold weather and condensation is not my concern either. Its the heat. I’m in Los Angeles, and where I work the heat can get to be about 100 deg F on an average summer day.

I googled on it a lil bit and there is mixed reviews about it. What do you guys do?

Sun thru Fog – Negative

I shot this yesterday on a country road…in the fog…with the sun shining through the trees.

When I got home I realized the shot was CRAP, so I converted it to a negative, seems a little more interesting to me.

Either way I was feeling some DPS withdrawal so I needed to post something 😀

Question about focusing?

I posted a picture in the portrait critique section of my 3 kids and it was pointed out to me that I was letting the camera pick the focal point and that I should pick one myself. So I read the manual..haha…and figured out how to do that. Now my question is if I have 3 subjects and want to focus on all 3 of them, how do I do that when I can only choose one focal point or is there a trick to pick more than one? My XSI has 9 to chose from. Any suggestions would be helpful. I am new to this so I apologize if this is a silly question.
