Last week I start shooting with my Dads old Exa 1b - the ultimate analog weapon made in GDR 30 years ago. Its a great feeling shooting 100 percent manual ... Folks, such a old camera makes the time standing still for a while, I took 12 pictures in 2 hours :). I'm still waiting for the negatives - thats why I show you another capture taken in 2009 - a pearl which finally finds its place here.

After moving from Mynicki to Fatamanta some of my favorites pictures got lost, they still "sleep" and wait for a reincarnation. This post is the first one and I hope you like this way of showing some fine moments as set. Last week I got some Emails asking for Mynicki ... thanks a lot for your mentions, they pushed me. This step was/is so important for myself - I'm stranded here for something new and it feels good.

Hello, this is Fatamanta! Actually known as the Nicki Photoblog a lot has changed. My point of view (photography) and the evolution of myself arranged this bold move. Of course, the man and the doggy behind the scenes are the same as always, but photography take up more space from just now. I was looking for something new and Fatamanta is the fine result. English: Mom's christmas gift was a analog body. She love to shot for getting real-photos and no digital stuff. I used the chance and she got a one to one training: How to shot with DOF, change the point of view and perspective and how to compose a motive? We both spend more time lying on the ground instead walking like the other passers :). It was so funny and she becomes better and better. Later she told me: "Son, I would also like to have such a white and red dashed lens." Mom?! ...

German: Mama's Weihnachtsgeschenk ist eine neue analoge Kamera. Sie liebt es zu fotografieren um dann "echte" Bilder anstatt digitale Daten in den Händen zu halten. Ich nutze die Gelegenheit für eine kleine Fotoschule, ganz gemütlich zu zweit: Wie lässt sich Tiefenschärfe einsetzen, einfach mal die Perspektive oder den Standpunkt wechseln und wie komponiere ich ein Motiv? Wir beide verbrachten mehr Zeit liegend im kalten Sand, anstatt wie die anderen Passanten zu spazieren. Es war lustig und sie wurde immer besser und "mutiger". Später sagte sie mir: "Sohn, ich möchte auch gern so ein weisses Objektiv mit rotem Ring besitzen." Mama?! ...

English: 2010 is done and my last post this year is a small review of a exciting year. Photography makes me smile, makes me relaxing and gives me so much energy and creativity. I wish that more time would have been – but photography is still a passion and not a job. Anyway, I like to thank you for your visits, feedback and incentives. I’m so curious what happens in 2011: A new theme for this blog reached the beta-state, I’m not sure of Leicas M9 ;) and I refer a new apartment. English: Last week I got the chance for playing around with a Canon EF 300 L IS. It was really great, but this lens seems to be a little bit overdosed for my backpack ;). What else happened? I have too long viewed on Leica's M-Series and had the first touch to a M9. Danger :) ...

German: Letzte Woche hatte ich Gelegenheit ein Canon EF 300 L IS auszupobieren. Es hat eine Menge Spass gemacht, aber ich glaube schon, dass dieses Objektiv ein wenig überdimensioniert für meinen kleinen Rucksack scheint ;). Was ist noch passiert? Höchstwahrscheinlich habe ich zu lange die Leica M-Serie angeschaut und bin dann noch dummerweise zum ersten Mal mit einer M9 in Berührung gekommen. Ganz gefährlich :) ...
